The Good, the Bad and the Ugly American, Chapter 2
Our Expat in Portugal encourages YOU to escape the United States.
Legendary Maine political operative Dennis Bailey has created a pretty great life for himself since moving overseas, three years ago, to the land of sunshine and sardines. In his new series of short films for The Crash Report, he’ll explain how and why Portugal is a great place for Americans currently frustrated with Trumpian domestic turbulence. In this first video, Dennis discusses crime, punishment, drug decriminalization and how Maine’s murder rate is more than double his new homeland’s rate, despite having about a tenth of the population.
Dennis is the author of Óla Portugal: Why I Moved to the Land of Sunshine and Sardines (and how you can too), available on Amazon. Born and raised in Maine, Dennis is a former journalist and served for six years as communications director for Gov. Angus King before operating Savvy, Inc., his public relations firm in Portland. He now lives in Carcavelos, Portugal.
